Ebeneezer

“Ebeneezer is also known as West Virginia Highway and West Virginia Farewell. It was one of the first tunes recorded by Galax, Virginia area fiddler Kahle Brewer, with guitar accompaniment by the under-appreciated Ernest V. “Pop” Stoneman, in 1926. Its second part goes up the neck, first in a 3-5-7 position, which requires a bit of left-hand stretching, and then, in the fifth and sixth measures, into a fifth-through-eighth-fret passage. Place your hand so as to cover those frets and then position play: fifth fret with the first finger, sixth with the second, and so on.” Flatpicking Magazine
